The Surprise - Hurleen Veen

So it’s true he thought, it’s really true. He hesitated, just before he walked into the room, shocked at what he saw. He looked at her; she looked so happy, happier than he had ever seen her before. It was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. The way her hair waved as she laughed, and her laugh was as melodious as a chorus of angels. He looked at her with such awe, thinking how he could never make her as happy as she was now. The way she looked at the other man, he couldn’t bear it. The look in her eyes was if she was in the most magical dream, in love, as if they were the only two people in the room. It was the way he was looking at her now, the way he always looked at her. What did he do wrong? What didn’t he do? Why did she need to find someone else? More importantly why couldn’t he make her happy? What was wrong with him? But at least she was happy, at least she didn’t have to pretend anymore.
