Friendship Is A Curse, I Swear - Aaron McAndrew

Friendship is a curse, I swear.

A curse that dooms one to decay.

A horrid affliction that steals the soul away.

It hurts the most in times of youth, hurts those without a care.

It binds them to another, with all its dash and flair.

But then the comrade leaves, like the sun’s parting from the day,

And it leaves the other wailing “MY GRIEF IS HERE TO STAY!”

This mutuality of suffering is one no one should share.

There I shan’t accede this meeting;

One that will surely end in woe.

Because happiness in life is fleeting,

A premise that you surely know.

So I shall say farewell,

And save me from an extant hell.
