This is exactly how I pictured it.
You and I,
In the warm, summery air.
We hide in the soft shade,
Escaping the unrelenting rays,
Of the white hot sun.
I subconsciously stroke
At your face and arms,
Not telling, but showing you
That you mean everything to me.
I can see a loving and adoring
Sitting beyond your eyes
As you look up at me,
And the corners of your mouth
Turn up ever so slightly
When I rest my head against you,
Because I’m too exhausted to
Hold it upright anymore,
I feel your lips,
Gently kiss at my hairline.
In an action that is described
As love.
It’s the little things,
That turn my stomach inside out,
Like that little moment,
When your hand is threaded through mine,
And your thumb begins to caress
Mine softly.
Instants like those are the ones
That really count,
And make me think,
Of how worth it, it all was.
