Love is What You Offered Me - Mary Kate Tierney

Off to war he chose to fight

He could not put up an air of resistance

Life now losing its meaning for existence

But he knew what he chose was right

His honor directing him to the light

The only thing fueling his persistence

Was her love and their reminiscence

But her soul, what a beauty in sight

He would not be able to see the birth

Not be by her side or hold her hands

He would not see his baby girl introduced to Earth

By his wife he could not stand

Yet they would keep intact, no bond to sever

Till God reunited their hearts forever
