Looking across the room
Saw the girl sniffling and crying
A look in her eyes of doom
You would have thought she was dying
Maybe she was on the inside
But I’ll never know
Did she need someone in which to confide?
Was the answer yes or no?
I wish I would have given her a hug
Maybe that would have changed her mind
Maybe then she would not ended up in the hole they dug
If only time could rewind
I would have been a friend in a sea of foe
A safety net when there is danger
What someone goes through is not easy to know
So take a chance and comfort a stranger
