Stardust - Madison Kane

The stardust of a thousand souls lies
glinting, glistening on the ground-
forgotten by those who carry
the feathered countenance of hope within
the deepest depths of their hearts.

The debts of folly are paid in full!
And happiness is never loaned on credit,
and lies are found out before they
become truth. Stay home with me for once,
my darling, hear what the world is saying to you;

The stardust of a million souls lies
trampled, torn, telling stories silently. The feathers,
scattered throughout the mists of time, for those
who would find them and realize
(what, I am not certain)...

Don’t waste the stardust! Ignore
the well-worn wisdom of those who
came before, Darling, look at what
I am showing to you! See all the wonder, beauty,
amazement- and watch the stardust fall from the night sky.
